Report - Tuesday evening
What a team. These teen-agers are so
flexible and fascinated by all that goes on. This allows God to
direct the day in dynamic ways and just enjoy the flow as it
develops.
Once again three teams were created
and went their separate way. The Somotillo team participated in a
girls kickball tournament this morning. These girls were more
competitive than the boys the day before. With hundreds cheering
on the tension rose and finally a winner was declared. Which was
of course our own Baptist School of Somotillo. And they did it the
hard way, they earned it! Testimonies were given and a great time
was had by all. Then in the afternoon the team veterans took them
on an evangelism tour of Somotillo. One of the most shocking
things for a first time missionary is to watch the name of Jesus
being spoken constantly, and for that word to be received with
enthusiasm. The constant desire and joy in speaking openly of our
faith in Jesus is so different. The people hearing that word then
receive it with joy. That really changes one's life. It is so
energizing. And we haven't even unchained Paul yet. The best is
yet to come!!!
Tonight we are attending a boxing show
here in Somotillo, at a boxing club run by a Christian who just
desires to teach the kids discipline and to use their talents. And
they do have talent. One of our team members went a round with
one with full headgear on. Lasted just barely a round. And the
fellow from Somotillo was one of the smaller boxers. We have
brought boxing equipment with us that will help this club to keep
the kids busy and exited.
Today they held the medical clinic in
Rodeo Grande. About 200 patients were treated and 15 accepted
Jesus as their Savior. This of course will be the lead evangelism
tool when the clinic in Somotillo is built. Those 15 will now be
added to the church, building their body and energizing His
people. God is great!
Tomorrow more adventures for Jesus!
