It is based on the Lord's Great
Commission found in Matthew 28:18 and 19:
Then Jesus came to them and said,
"All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely
I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Our
Statement of Faith
Cresthill is a Baptist Church. Baptists are
a people of deep beliefs and cherished doctrines. Throughout our
history we have been a confessional people, adopting statements of
faith as a witness to our beliefs and a pledge of our faithfulness
to the doctrines revealed in Holy Scripture.
Our confessions of faith are rooted in
historical precedent, as the church in every age has been called
upon to define and defend its beliefs. Each generation of
Christians bears the responsibility of guarding the treasury of
truth that has been entrusted to us.
(2 Timothy 1:14).
Our
statement of faith is summarized in the Baptist Faith & Message
